Technicians' frequently asked questions:

When does my certification expire?
Silver and Gold certifications are good for five years. You must attain 24 CEUs to renew for an additional five years

If you are Bronze certified, you will automatically be upgraded to Silver Certification after three years from the test date, if you have attained 20 CEUs in that period.  The Silver upgrade will be valid for five years after you complete the 20 CEUs. 

Silver and Gold certifications are valid for five years.  If you have not completed 24 CEUs during that period, your certification will exprie.  After attaining  24 CEUs, your certification will be renewed for five years..

I do not see my CEU credits for a class which I took two weeks ago. What should I do?

It takes time to post all the CEU Attendance rosters. If the class date has been over a month contact the instructor and make sure that the attendance log has been sent. If you still have a problem contact the NORA Education Center.

What should I do if my certification has expired without earning my 24 CEUs?
As soon as you complete the 24 hours, your certification will become active again. 

I want to be current on all educational materials by receiving email. What email list should I be on?
Please email NORA's Headquarter's requesting placement on the E&T PR list.

I took the certification exam and would like to know my score. How do I check my scores with the new website and database?
Go to Member Login and set up an account.  You will be prompted with instruction on what to do next.

How will this new website and database help me?
There is information about your test scores; you can view by subject the results; this new system will also speed up the process of posting CEUs and test scores.

Yes, you can view all “associated” employees under your company login. Create an account, login, and you can then view the information you need. If you have any trouble please call the NORA Education Center at 866-924-1100 or Headquarters at 703-340-1660

What are the advantages of having an account here?

Instructors' frequently asked questions:

How do I get my course NORA approved?
You need three things: An overview of the course to be taught, the length of the presentation, and a ten question test.  If you have any questions call the NORA Education Center @866-924-1100.

Do I need to be NORA Certified to teach a class?
No

How do I submit technician's CEU credits to NORA?
As of right now, download and fill out the attendance sheet from the website under CEU Log for Instructors. Then mail or fax to:

NORA is currently working on a new process to speed up our day to day operations by cutting out unnecessary steps and allowing us to focus on processing exams, certificates, and cards faster. NORA will be asking Instructors to post CEUs for their classes.   NORA will contact Instructors once this process is in place. You will have to login to your account as an Educator and select the course then class date and add the Technicians who have attended your class. It will automatically update their accounts.

What is a Proctor?
An individual who oversees the certification test.

What is the Role?
To make certain that technicians understand what is expected of them and that all testing is conducted according to NORA standards.

How do I become a Proctor?
Contact the NORA Education Center at 866-924-1100.

Once approved, what do I need to do?
Contact your state association and let them know that you are available to proctor tests for them.
